Platform Engineer - Cloud Operating Model Transformation

Hybrid (work - 2 days out of the nearest base location)
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000
In your role as a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will be part of the clients Cloud Advisory capability within the wider Business Technology capability unit. You will drive cloud platform engineering initiatives that enable the adoption, acceleration, and innovation of cloud solutions for our clients.
This will involve:
* Assessing, defining, and implementing Kubernetes and OpenShift capabilities that enhance DevOps efficiency, delivering innovation, agility, cost optimization, and faster time to market.
* Adopting a comprehensive approach to modernizing the developer experience, focusing on key dimensions such as organization and culture, DevOps practices, processes, automation, and tooling.
* Architecting and designing scalable & resilient cloud infrastructure to ensure seamless deployment, management, and optimization of containerised applications.
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement automation strategies, reduce operational complexity, and ensure continuous improvement across the platform.
* Guiding teams in leveraging cloud-native solutions and multi-cloud environments to meet evolving business and technical requirements, ensuring flexibility and future-proof architecture.

As a consultant you will lead cloud platform engineering initiatives with a focus on Kubernetes and OpenShift, producing high quality deliverables that provide strategic direction and technical leadership. Contribute key insights to shape the overall cloud strategy and support the design of scalable, secure, and innovative cloud solutions.
We would Love to Meet Someone With You will bring experience in cloud platform transformation through technologies like Kubernetes and OpenShift, optimising the way clients deploy and manage their cloud environments. Comfortable working in a dynamic, technology-driven environment, you will bring proven expertise in the following areas:
* Solid understanding of Kubernetes &/or OpenShift with the ability to deploy, configure, manage, and troubleshoot Kubernetes &/or OpenShift clusters
* Experience in container orchestration to ensure efficient management and orchestration of containerised applications, including automated deployment, scaling, and management
* Experience with security best practices including RBAC, image scanning, pod security policies, container security & network policies
* Enabling continuous delivery while ensuring reliability, quality, observability, and performance
* Understanding of observability and monitoring platform; Experience of having collaborated with developers to implement and improve observability and monitoring practices is preferred.
* Security and governance models for cloud engineering and operations -Desired
* Has strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
* Being comfortable in a client-facing role, with previously consulting or advisory experience.
